This individual will provide engineering support as well as operational support of the company Production, UAT, and Test environments.The qualified candidate will assert him/herself into complex project assignments where he/she will represent the Database team in all dialogue and decisions around the architecture, deployment, and/or management of database environments. The individual will also take a role in the definition of operational best practices and automation of operational tasks. To succeed at this function requires the individual to present subject-matter expertise on the MySQL platform with real world experience performing field operations support.

Job Responsibilities

  • - Must have 5 or more years of experience in database administration using mysql. 

  • - Strong performance tuning skills in a very large database environment.

  • - Ability to trace and analyze results, then to recommend options for problem resolution.

  • - Expertise with maintaining db servers.

  • - Experience with database encryption and backup/recovery methodologies.

  • - Experience in High Availability technologies like clustering, Replication and load balancing.

  • - Experience with other db technologies like Amazon Aurora, MSSQL,Redshift, Dynamodb is a plus.

  • - Experience with public cloud platforms like AWS, RDS, SQL Azure etc.

  • - Experience with migration of dbs from to other db platforms.

  • - Must have superior problem-solving skills with extremely high levels of initiative and assertiveness.

  • - Must have very strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to deal effectively with customers, peers and management.

  • - Must be able to organize work efficiently and work well under stress, changing priorities, and time constraints.

  • - A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with a specialization in relational database management systems.

Description

HotelKey, Inc. is seeking a Tier II Support Engineer to join our growing services team supporting operations of HotelKey Frontdesk PMS and a suite of ancillary applications, which are part of our new cloud based Property Management System. HotelKey Tier II Support Engineer will help in Monitoring and Maintaining the health of the HotelKey Production, QA, Staging and Development environments and ensure 100% availability. Tier II Support will troubleshoot issues raised by Tier I related to operations and also work on tickets raised by them for specific needs.

Tier II support will also work on quality improvement projects for achieving continual improvements in service levels.

Job Responsibilities

  • - Monitor and maintain health of all the environments of HotelKey PMS

  • - Monitor alerts, accordingly acting on resolving them

  • - Determine the issues as P1/P2/Proactive and engage Tier III teams to resolve the issue

  • - Supporting code changes and release Management

  • - Monitoring Batch process and Load Monitoring

  • - Raising change requests and getting approvals from related client business and IT teams

  • - Resolve all tickets raised by Tier I Support

  • - Ensure 100% Availability of service

  • - Outage Handling and Troubleshooting Critical Network Related issues

  • - Troubleshoot functional issues of Tier I on the HotelKey PMS

  • - Meet all SLA requirements and help maintain Key Performance Matrix

  • - Compile, review and monitor daily / weekly performance of the Project

  • - Ensure that project deliverables are met and project time is maintained

  • - Identify improvement areas and implement measures to maximize customer satisfaction levels.

  • - Assess customer feedback, and evaluate areas of improvements based on critical feedback

  • - Participate in internal and external (Client retained external audit agency) audits and reviews for the project.

  • - Work with client IT teams and support knowledge sharing across teams

Qualifications

  • - Experience in Tier II Support activities

  • - SQL server database and query language knowledge required

  • - AWS Cloud and Network related knowledge required

  • - Excellent people management skills and communication skills required

  • - Good Analytical and presentation skills

  • - Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems , devise ways to add new functionality, devise testing procedures, train end users and review computer system capabilities by using various analytical techniques and cloud based tools to improve HotelKey's Property Management System.

  • - Work under Supervision.

  • - Work Hours: 40 hours per week

Qualifications

  • - Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or closely Related Field.

  • - Experience of at least twelve months performing Business Analysis or Computer Systems Analysis of IT/Computer Systems is required.

  • - Travel is required to unanticipated client locations.
